This is actually happening in La Mision!!! So beaware it can happen anywhere..."If you were/are you one of those people that paid 50.00 to get your electric for half off, I certainly hope that you checked with CFE prior to doing so. Next time they came it was $25.00! You should call CFE so that they wont come back at you for theft charges or worse .... If it sounds to good to be true, welllllllllll then it is............"

May be one of the guys who "fixes" your meter to make it read less. Couple of ways to do that and none of them are a good idea as eventually CFE will catch it and you will pay it all back BIG TIME!

Is this someone coming door to door claiming to be selling electricity "discounts"? Real CFE employees have uniforms and IDs, at least in La Paz.

I had a 'real' CFE employee offer me a 50% permanent discount on my bill for a payment of $300.00 (dollars). He had a proven track record. I would have agreed except he couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't get transferred... or fired.

You illustrate a key component of many scammers' schtick: Playing off of victims' need to see themselves as smart, they attempt to baffle you with complicated BS in the hopes that your vanity will win out; that you won't admit you don't understand, and will let the script roll towards an eventual capture.

I let them go on, tell them I don't understand, and earnestly invite them to burn up all the time they like trying to educate me.

Eventually they get to the "Gimme Something" part, when I tell them I would like to, but need to understand first.
