AP - The wife of an American tourist presumably gunned down on the Mexico side of a border lake is leaving Texas and moving back home.

She is already giving up on the search???

As a kid i grew up in west Texas anyone from that part of the world can tell you of the dangers of being on that lake. Although it has always had the reputation of being one of the best Bass lakes around.

Interesting & surprising comment....since it's the authorities, not her personally who is in charge of conducting both the search & the investigation.

Can't say that I blame her... and they had planned to move back to CO.. in just a short while...

Wouldn't think it would be too much fun sitting in a home, where you once lived together with someone and now your there all by yourself...

Hope there is not further injury to the families affected..... from press and all the rest.. must be a very difficult time..

If I lost my spouse in such an incident there is nothing you could do to pry me away from remaining close to the scene until I had some news on what had happened to her. But she says "God told her it was OK". Since HE has given her the thumbs up I guess it's OK...

Maybe just too much God around these days. Just seems to me that invoking the deity is a chicken way out of a situation.

Well that is a piece of information I did not have..... if "God" has spoken directly to her, then who am I to make any suggestions ...

You are right - with that input the police should just close the entire investigation...

You & me both (well, I THINK I WOULD....if I had a spouse! Hey, I hung here waiting for Bing to return!)....but not everyone reacts the same way to highly emotional & stressful situations. And don't forget that she was accused (at least in the press) of possibly having killed him herself, which would magnify the stress level beyond my comprehension.

Your response just surprised me....not knowing her financial situation, family situation & job situation, etc. There is a very good likelihood that she simply doesn't have the financial resources to stay there any longer waiting for the authorities to come up with something....or not. Where is it written that 3 weeks, 3 months, three years is an appropriate length of time to get back to moving forward with one's life?

Everyone has their own belief system....or not....but IMO, the "God" line is a cop-out!

I wasn't making a judgment of her in terms of involvement with what happened to her husband, only surprised that so soon after the incident and with the investigation ongoing she would leave the area.

But that's just me...

Not too sure what they can "investigate" ..... they sure in hell aren't going across the lake and interview Los Zeta's ... unless they are deploying the United States Marines.. and I mean deploy... in Mexico, on the other side of the lake...

Think Los Zeta's has already gave an indication of how they will treat an investigation by Mexico in there immediate area...

Perhaps something will be learned from additional investigation on this side... but, I would not expect to much more ... if in fact the shooting occurred in the location which it has been alleged to have occur...

And agree .... there is no set time limit for anyone on how one deals with something like this.... can on wish them peace of mind... and strength to endure.. .
