AP - A sophisticated cross-border tunnel equipped with a rail system, ventilation and fluorescent lighting has been shut down by U.S. and Mexican officials — the second discovery of a major underground drug passage in San Diego this month, authorities said Friday.

Kinda have to wonder, given that the authorities have no idea how many of these things exist, if there will ultimately be a giant sinkhole running from East TJ to Otay Mesa.

I have thought the very same thing. Kind of like what the city of Long Beach experienced after years of pumping out oil and not replacing it with water / other fluids in the last century. SCE had a three story building sink down to the middle of the second story windows in one case...

Maybee the could use some of the bigger ones to route traffic through to relive border congestion.
