Conservation Symposium Planned for Loreto

LORETO, Mexico — Natural resources of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez will be the topic of a major symposium planned at Loreto May 25-27. The Conservation Science Symposium will be held at La Mision hotel, north of the Loreto small boat basin. Dozens of naturalists from around the world will share their latest works and abstracts, many of which are of great interest to cruising boaters.

Topics include Fisheries and Communities, Island Habitats, Protected Areas and Biodiversity, Climate Change Impacts and Mitigation Strategies, Desalination and Water Quality and Species of Concern (as opposed to endangered species).

Boaters in the Puerto Escondido area are welcome to register to attend the three-day event, which includes welcome parties and several dinners. Registration is $125.
