Obviously that would depend on your political bias. Most who know seem to think that a political deal was cut that basically keeps the political/power structure pretty much the same. It was just the party banner that had to go...

I think we're going to see more of that happen as elections continue. With all the turmoil over the past few years, things are going to get stirred together. Think about the US. Republicans- the party of Lincoln. For a good portion of the 20th century, it was the Democrats that supported segregation. Who, then became the champion of civil rights. Stuff changes.
