I am new to this forum, but not to Baja!

Do you get your wood locally?

Yes I do. I am lucky to have 2 suppliers right here in Loreto where I can get things like:

Good 3/4 pine plywood
Birch plywood
Mahogany vaneered plywood

Alder
Mahogany
Banak
Pine
Sometimes even Oak and Maple

I can get good hardware as well like:
Euro (pocket) hinges
Ball bearing drawer slides

I am also set up to import various hardware and gadgets, and other special items and tools. Usually, it' just 15% import tax and then shipping charges from Esta Feta (Mexican Fedex equivalent). Items with a large size or weight can get a little pricey. It is safe and secure, in the last 2 years I have ordered maybe 3K worth of items without any problems.

"Ball bearing drawer slides" like the one you showed, clean job...

BajaCarpintero, while BajaGringo undoubtedly has great taste in wives, construction & fine quality cabinetry, you were being extremely generous in overlooking his....Uhhhhhh....grooming capabilities....just take a gander at his avatar....the jury is still out on that innocent little face when it comes to having such great taste in hair styles!

It's funny you mention that because I took his avatar photo to Norma's salon here in town and asked how much for the "Gringo Special". She said that hair cut is illegal here in Mexico and recommended a cheap flight to Jamaica, "Mon"!

I wanted to tell you that I just had my website redone and I like it much better than the old one. Feel free to let me know what you think or give suggestions.
