Default Possible rain heading our way

It looks like there's a possibility of some rain falling on the southern peninsula in the next few days....maybe....

Yep, but the latest update makes it look like a lot of the moisture has fallen over mainland Mexico & there may not be too much rain left in the system for Baja! Time will tell.

Checking the weather online it looks like you should be getting some rain just about now...

Was totally overcast this AM with dense light colored clouds (as opposed to black clouds), the sun didn't even break through until around 10:30 AM....but it's out now & burning the clouds off.....doesn't look like rain at all! Totally calm even up on the hill.

Damn!! I missed it! I took a siesta this afternoon....to be awakened a short time ago by not only Maggie's hot little body plastered up against mine (pretty much a daily occurrence), but Jenny & Bing as well! Beyond the low mantra of "Mom'll protect us!", I could hear an occasional very faint clap of thunder, waaaay faaaarr off in the distance. The local weather site still doesn't register any YTD rainfall, but my birdbath tells the real story!

Somehow, I doubt the arroyos'll be running!

I love summer rain. Especially when we're out exploring in the desert...

If you look back at the way a hurricane develops, it is pulling moisture in across the ocean from multiple directions, several hundred miles away. Although the storms path did not lead directly over Baja, the pulling/swirling motion that builds the storm can affect weather over a thousand miles away, in all directions.

At least that is how it was explained to me by somebody who is paid to know this stuff, in contrast to somebody like me who just sticks his head out the door in the morning to come up with my own forecast for the day...

BG's correct in his information.....I know this because NASA credited it as the remnants of Arlene for the past 24-48 hours on the weather sites as it crossed mainland on a collision course with Baja!

And there's still more coming!

No, not ours, but if you had been awake on hour earlier you could have seen rain pouring out of those clouds about 15 clicks up the road towards San Juan de la Costa. Lasted almost an hour. I was coming back from the store and saw the cell which looked tornadic. My new Minnesotan neighbors were outside and asked, "do we get tornadoes here?' Told them not since I've been here but I could sure see why they asked, it was one black, mean looking cell with a couple of those ominus little "fingers". Also poured directly south about the same distance away.

Not much help for the garden, but had to help the water table, mucho agua!

Never thought about tornadoes here & I don't come from tornado territory....BUT....we do get your namesake here....DUST DEVILS! So if spiraling circles of dust can travel hither, thither & yon, is seems logical that tornadoes would be possible. I Googled "Tornadoes, La Paz, BCS, Mexico", but all the references I could get out of the results referred to hurricanes or cyclones....NOT going on a mission to learn the technically correct difference between cyclones & tornadoes!

Okay, so I lied! Or changed my inquisitive mind!

We awoke early this morning to the wonderful sound of rain falling on the roof. Lasted about three hours...
