Mexico to debut analogue switch-off in Tijuana

The Mexican government plans to start the analogue switch-off in 2012. Mexico's transition from analogue to digital television is expected to be completed in 2021, local newspaper Informador reports, citing Fernando Borjon, director of the radio and TV unit of Mexican telecoms regulator Cofetel. The process will be rolled out in the Mexican city of Tijuana, in Baja California Norte, followed by the cities of Monterrey, Matamoros and Mexicali in 2013, the Mexico City capital in 2014.
