Post Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes near Mexico's Baja Peninsula

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, on Tuesday and caused panic, but local officials said there were no reports of damage or injuries. Confused Re: Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes near Mexico's Baja Peninsula

"Caused panic"? I didn't see anybody panicking, unless you count my dog. A couple of neighbors came outdoors, as I did, but essentially to talk about it, not because anybody was afraid to stay indoors. It was a pretty good shake, rattle, 'n' roll, though!

Another quake last night, a 4.1 about 2:00 am.

I think would be proud of me Kate :)

It woke me and the wife up but I didn't get out of bed.
Wife got pissed at me for being so calm with this one!

Just for historial facts, my wife was in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake.
I guess that is why she gets so

Well, I missed that one, but I'm proud of you anyhow!
Can't blame your wife for being nervous after being in the big one in Mexico City. I recall reading about it, and it sounded pretty scary. At least La Paz is less densely populated, with lower buildings, which reduces the risks. At least that's how I have it figured!

Something tells me that if it starts shaking the 20th of December people will be a tad more "jumpy"....
