"...However, what could have been seen as a huge victory for the Mexican Government was overshadowed by the later event during which a group of armed assailants arrived at the funeral home in Sabinas, Coahuila, housing the bodies of both Lazcano and Rodríguez, and stole the corpses. Sources say that the act leads SEMAR and state authorities to believe that the victims were highly ranked members of the cartel."

You just can't make this stuff up...

They steal back bodies all the time, why didn't SEMAR keep them at the military base until they identify them? Seems strange to put "evidence" in a public funeral parlor and expect it to be sucure.

Now they're busy publishing his morgue photo, in full CYA mode. I suppose it does seem to resemble him...

I never get used to seeing photos like this. You know it's a war when public information released gets to this level. I'm surprised they didn't prop the eyes open. You think the still living El Lazca stole the body to convince the world he was dead? nah...

I still haven't got past the supposed son of Chapo Guzman who was arrested last summer and the next day everybody was saying they made a mistake. Although I never heard an explanation why he had so many guns/so much money. Many down here are convinced it really was Chapo's son but they struck a deal with Chapo...

On a news channel out of Mexico City they ran a story the day he was captured with the perp walk photo and another of the credencial elector (federal voter ID card) of Chapo's son. Although the photo on the voter card was 3 or 4 years old they looked an awful lot alike...

When El Tio cavorted around Rosarito Beach and Primo Tapia a few years back- he was alleged to have a duffle bag with $1 Million in his entourage at all times. Just in case. Don't know how many times he had to refill it. The narcos have so much cash and too few can say no.

Have any of you been watching this series now running?

Pablo Escobar: El Patron del Mal

We are completely hooked on the show. I have read online interviews with other members of his cartel who worked closely with Escobar and they all say the storyline/characters are so close they do double-takes.

It gives an open, unfiltered look at how it all really works and the isolated world they build around to convince themselves that all that they do is justified. Escobar had a room in his house filled floor to ceiling with stacks upon stacks totalling hundreds of millions of dollars.

His favorite line when dealing with corrupt official is that he offers them to make a choice:

Plata o Plomo (money or lead)

The ruthlessness he demonstrated is incredible. It's fascinating and hardly a night goes by we don't gasp outloud at some of the scenes. If you have the stomach for it, I highly recommend it...
