First night of my 2012 Baja adventure this week is in San Quintin. Which hotel for 1 night?

Have stayed in Santa Maria("Pinta Presidente" in 2006) and dined at Jardines.

Hotels are just sheets and a shower for me. Since we will be heading south early in morning, coffee is also a need. CHEERS

The two you mention are our favorites --- Depending on the day of the week, reservations might be needed for Jardines. We have never needed reservations for Santa Maria.

Thanks DianaT, reserved Jardines. Wanted the convenience of their restaurant, as we will only be in SQ for about 18 hours. CHEERS

Forgot to mention, but you probably already know and this is unless things have changed very recently. The restaurant is closed on Monday and is not open for breakfast. Their other restaurant in town is open for breakfast.

Have fun! And when you head out to Bahia Asuncion, after the last farm, SLOW down as the pot holes are murder. There will be good stretches that fool you into thinking the bad part is over --- naught! They were working on the road, but I don't think they have gotten too far. As of a few weeks ago, they had torn out the asphalt for a few miles near the BA turn-off. The dirt part was better than the torn up asphalt, but it quickly turned wash boardy and after the rain, I don't know. Just take your time and keep your eyes wide open.

Been so busy I hardly have had time to check the threads. Jardines, of course...
