Friday's San Ysidro Border wait time...

20 minutes at 11am! No lie.

All 24 northbound double-decked inspection lanes are open this holiday weekend as a test. The results look great! They will close off the temporary northbound lanes Monday again to begin another construction phase. This is very encouraging news though. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this is what it will be like on a daily basis- soon.

It's a long weekend for many workers that would normally be crossing.

And maybe the Black Friday shoppers were in the early morning rush. Like you said, Monday will be back to the limited lanes and two hours plus wait times...

It would be great to get updates on this in a week or so. Been using Tecate lately, but now it's getting busy as well, waited two hours last week. I like the drive through the Valley, but it does add at least an hour to the trip.

You can keep an eye on this although I've found it to be unreliable in the past...........something about the government not really wanting the bad guys to know what's happening at the moment:

Thanks, that's a good idea although I agree with you, sometimes it doesn't seem realistic at all. Another thing we do is tune the radio to AM 600 San Diego. You can pick it up as far south as El Rosario certain times of the day. They give border time waits every half hour as part of the news. Should have taken their advice last time we crossed.

Yeah....KOGO 600. I listen to Chip Franklin on weekday mornings.....just for the Libertarian point of view.
