Goodbye to a faithful old friend

With great sadness in our hearts we finally bid Dakota goodbye/ At nearly 16 years of age her joints were becoming too painful for her to walk. Olivia picked Dakota out from the litter back in January of 1997 and something tells me that she was there awaiting Dakota when she crossed over. Happy trails old friend - just won't seem the same around here without you...

Just keep the good memories in your mind, Ron. It breaks my heart to hear of this kind of loss, but you gave her a good life. That's worth celebrating.

It's so hard to go through this!! Thankfully you have nearly 16 years of wonderful memories to pull out & reminisce the happier days. So sorry for your loss! It's posts like this that I keep a box of Kleenex here on my desk!

Sorry for the loss Ron and Cristina. You were the best guardians a good dog like Dakota could have. You were all better off for those 16 years together, no matter how hard the passing is now. What a great full life on the beach she had. You can be very proud you gave that to her. It doesn't get any better for a dog than you guys.

Sorry for your loss, Ron and Cristina. Know of the pain the passing of a pooch causes. Went through it all my life. And everytime I lost one, I swore, I would never go through that pain again. To be followed by a new pooch a few months later. Hard for an animal lover to go through life without one ( or two or three ).

Sorry to hear about your loss. When my old Boston Terrier that we shared 15 years passed I said never agian. Now we have a German Sheperd named Chula that has wormed her way into our heart that I didnt think I would care about another animal as we care about her. She is now 18 mo old and is doing a excellent job of training us

My condolences, Ron! I had to do that with my 16-year old kitty, a few years ago. She was so arthritic she could not walk. It was so awful and sad!

I imagine Dakota had a wonderful life with you and your family.

Ron,
We all have gone thru the loss of a dear pet..and it isn't easy. Those people that have never experienced the "love" and "friendship" of a pet.... can't fathom the bond that's formed!! It's difficult to say "goodbye" to a member of the family. You were blessed to have had your old buddy for sixteen years. Take care!!
