My friend Steve is originally from W. Australia and is very knowledagble about native plants from the region and loves them because they are so drought tolerant and hearty. He obtained an Agi import permit and has made a gorgeous garden at his Malibu,Ca home from seeds he's collected on his trips back to W.A.
He has given me several seedlings for my Baja garden which I'm trying to nuture, so this post is semi-baja-related. Mostly I thought it was a funny story. Steve recently sent me some photos of the mid-winter blast of color taken place in his garden right now and here are some examples. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Steve is a master gardener and takes some great photos, but he's not familiar with "reducing" the size of a photo and when he emails pictures to you, they are very "LARGE" megabite-wise. He sent the same batch of photos to our friend CP but the email was bounced back to him. I told him the "size" of the photos might have been too big and her email server rejected them large download. Steve said, "oh, I always forget about that". Here is what he sent her as a solution to reduce the size of the photos. ![]() ![]() |

WOW!!!!!
If your efforts from seed result in anything close to Steve's results, I'll be begging you for a few specific seeds! Come to think of it, they might do better here farther away from salt air & the stiff winds you have! ![]() |
