Thanks- but that's just Mother Nature at work. Kestrels are small and are sometimes called Sparrow Hawks or "Finger Falcons" .

Not so with Coopers. We had a man drop off this Cooper who had eaten poison, got disoriented and flew into a house breaking his jaw. I had him about a month- putting dead birds in a blender and using a turkey baster to nourish him. He was very sweet and let me help him. When he started tearing whole birds apart- I took him back and released him. Amazingly he did a fly-by once to say thanks- but I haven't seen him again since. (A good thing since Coopers will eat Kestrels for a snack)



We have a sparrow repeater-trap to catch live food when there is rescue bird in the house. This guy outsmarted our trap!
