Default Good news: Punta Banda drug den of 3 years busted.

Why it took three years I don't know, but it's good the community is a little cleaner and safer from this action. Wouldn't want this crew for neighbors the past three years though.

That is freakin' hilarious. The retirees in PB, mostly expats, wouldn't be aware of a gas chamber operating in the center of Cantu.
Actually, with Cantu being termed "The meth capitol of Baja," I wish there was.

I saw a recent report where Rosarito Beach was the porn capital of Baja. Although with prostitution legal, I'm not sure what laws are being broken unless minor are involved.

It appears many former decent housing projects that URBI and other gov´t, sanctioned large developers of low cost, easy to buy, tiny houses in Mexicali and San Luis Potosi [INFONAVIT bought] have turned into very undesirable walled communities after about 15 to 20 years, or less.

There was an newspaper article about one very large URBIVILLA here in SLP that is crime ridden and drug dealers hanging around the small park at the entrance. The reporter investigated the place and found that most who owned there 20 years ago have moved on and rent their place for about $800.00 pesos a month if original and not added on to.

Now even here a 2 bedroom for $800.00 pesos is cheap so I presume also they rent to anyone.

In Mexicali there are 20 and 30 year old URBIVILLA walled communities that have the same problems and I drove around a few lately, bored, and noticed whole streets have abandoned houses. It appears there they will not rent in the worst areas, so owners have no renters and then they steal the copper, windows, doors, and everything else they can.

It is an awful thing to see!

I have driven around here in San Luis Potosi and do not see any, or hardly any, abandoned houses. I take it that there are jobs available here but not that many jobs available in Mexicali anymore and there is a recession there lately.

This particular INFONAVIT development was a sewer from the beginning.

Point of interest: remember Jorge Hank's father, one of the super rich and powerful politicians in the country? He was head of the INFONAVIT program for a while.
He was also the man who stood tall in front of the country and said, "A politician who is poor, is a poor politician."

So what do you think will happen to the drug dealers if prosecuted? what kind of sentence to the courts impose? is there any follow up to this story?

slap on the wrist? Does their boss buy their freedom and back on the street in a week?

who knows? Depends who it is they were working for I suppose. Unlikely they are in jail though. Non violent drug dealing is no big deal with no social stigma attached.
