OOPS!!!:sorry::sad::tape: You sure did!! WAAAAAAY back on page 1, second post!

I'll try to pay closer attention in the future! Where is that little red-faced emoticon when ya need it?

I can relate to hating dull, boring sameness & prefer to have a few unexpected surprises! Thus all the angles builders hate in my place! I've currently got 3 separate crews here working on totally different things, but I'm trying to take progress pics & will post to my construction diary thread just as soon as I don't have to be jefe in 3 different areas! How I long for the tranquility of retirement again!!

Wooo, you shoulda talked to me FIRST! Architects are for people who need someone else to show they the house they want to live in....people like you who know what you want just need to pay an architect to do the final submission drawings & they have to be done by an architect on the approved Arq. list in the Catastro permit office. Plans signed by an architect in the USA won't fly (GAWD, I hope you knew that already!) I HATE to be the bearer of bad news!

Yea, we knew that. We have floor plans and elevations, not drawings. A Mex architect will do the technical stuff.

Gringo: Where did you get the stove (chimney) pipe for your wood burning stove. Mexico or US? Is it double wall? I've been buying odds and ends we'll need for construction. The only place I've been able to find good double wall pipe is on the internet. No one local (Calif) seems to sell it, at least that I can find

California is coming down on any wood burning stoves / fireplaces and good old stove pipe seems to be harder to get lately.

I bought all of the stove pipe off eBay...

We went out to see Ron's place yesterday. It really is looking great - much better than the photos can ever show. We are all looking forward to the house warming party my friend!

That is the coolest woodstove! That should heat up the house wonderfully and will look good doing it! I have one (I'm in CA) and yeah, they are coming down on them... Terrific floor plan too!

We just recently got ahold of the three adjacent lots to the south of us giving us a total of five lots and 1500 square meters. Still working on the one remaining lot to "square out" which would give us 1800 square meters total.

Lots of room now for that big garage, submerged fire pit, volleyball court, golf course...

I have about 15 projects going on simultaneously in the house involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, flooring, painting, mosaic tile and more. I remember how hard it was to explain the wood burning stove base - I can only imagine what the present projects would generate...

POLLO!!!! Afraid of a little honest commentary, huh? Where's your sense of adventure? Where's your sense of sharing for the sake of others who might be behind you on this twisted, rocky uphill path?? Rather than help the multitudes, you're afraid of a few questions? And for a minute there I'd thought that sharing is what this site is all about!!

Afterthought: Might you being implying that your audience members might be of less than stellar intelligence?

Excellent build. What is the projected total cost?

Ah nevermind. I just found the posts where this info is not shared.

No worries!
