Default Re: How to Obtain Mexican Citizenship via Marriage

I was told recently that those who meet the marriage and residency requirements are now having the test portion of the process being waved. Also, any foreign born children of the new Mexican citizen now qualify to apply and receive citizenship, much like the US born children of Mexican immigrants.

Sorry for the long overdue response but the correct answer for anybody looking into Mexican citizenship is that process must go through the Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores:

Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores

Here is the webpage with all the information you will need to initiate and process the request:

tramite-Carta de naturalizacion por haber contraido matrimonio con varon o mujer mexicanos

Attached is the latest study guide they reference at the bottom of that page.

Good luck!

No that's not Ron in the avatar.

It's a mugshot I found online of some industrious hippie; freshly-busted with an immense quantity of psychedelics.

I like his breezy insouciance facing some serious industrial-scale charges.

That, and judging from appearance, that he had been dipping into the product somewhat.

I was actually referring to the pic in the first post in the thread, but his avatar is amusing too. It reminds me of a deranged Mel Gibson for some reason.
