This is not driving, but I did not know where to it----so I will let the moderator decide where to move it. Since some people like to fly to baja, I thought I would share a look at Bahia Asuncion International.

I am told it is about 4000 feet long and quite good for a dirt strip. It is just a couple of miles out of town, but arrangements to be picked up can be made.

First one is looking toward the ocean and town, second one is looking the other direction.

The windsock is not in great shape, but it works

And do be careful---sometimes the bike team practices out there!

My first thought was --- Dirt Track and motorcycle racing..
I guess you could let a plane land on the track if he had to.

Love the shots of Asuncion International!!! If you email us before you come, we will be waiting at the strip with cold beverages and big smiles...just keep in mind when you give us your ETA, that we are an hour later here than the states!
If you circle the town before coming in, it attracts alot of attention to your plane...best to do your cowboy flying on the way out.

It is fun to watch the bicycle club train out there---and you are correct, it does look like a motorcycle race track or dirt drag race track.

Blowhole a question for you.
It is a given that you would be reimbursed for the beverages provided but how do you determine what to charge for the pickup and delivery back to the airport?

Do you have a set fee that includes both pickup and delivery?
Do you charge for waiting time if the plane is late?

I assume this is all part of you business services in Bahia Asuncion.
The basic question is How much do you charge for your services?

Any kind souls in Bahia Asuncion with a sewing machine & the ability to use it?? Someone in the area might want to consider whipping up a new windsock for the sake of any pilots who may be landing there! :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

Or just some time with a needle and thread. :icon_clap:

Easy, Easy----that windsock has REAL unique personality and it still works. :icon_e_biggrin::icon_e_biggrin:

Besides, who wants to take a picture of some fancy perfect windsock.

That windsock may be old but it has character.

I've just slapped myself upside the head!!:icon_e_surprised: How on earth I could put pilot safety above photogenic character is beyond me!:icon_lol:

Our services often are of the sliding scale nature depending on who the client is....for example, lots of our fisher folks come bearing gifts and stay at our rental houses and fish with Juan so we include the airstrip pick up in the package....but the pilots usually buy me some gas. The adult beverages are on the house and usually what goes around comes around and visitors get the next round.
We pride ourselves in providing personal service and our clients generally repay us in kind. we usually have an extra vehicle we lend the pilots too so they can do faster beer runs!!
BUT...if you really want me to put a dollar on this service...gas would be around $10 for both trips..
