Default My favorite place

I thought I'd share this photo I took of the moonrise over San Quintin Bay on the left and the Pacific Ocean on the right. The white casita was built for some people from L.A. and the casita on the hill to the left is being built for Chuey from Hacienda Heights, CA. The other photo is my dear friend Don Alvaro. Everyone loves to take his picture because he is so photogenic. The hill in the background is an actual volcano that's been dormant a lot longer than I've been around.

I'd like to see some photos of the Talk Baja amigos' favorite places in Baja. Show us your colonias, tienditas, friends, taco carts, etc.

Maybe we'll bump into each other. I'll be staying at La Chorera which is my favorite spot. If you feel adventurous, the turn-off is right at the southern end of the army base. You continue for about 9 miles of dirt road and you'll come to a small sign on the left that says "Campo Don Alvaro". The place is called La Chorera.

Besides being "photogenic", Don Alvaro is a real character and great neighbor. He adds a lot of life to this place and is dearly loved by all...

You dont earn a look like his by living the easy life I bet he is the kind of person that could entertain you for a while with his exploits.

You are absolutely right, JP. In his prime he was a hard working individual. He cleared alot of the land that he's on by hand. All the while raising a humongous family. I've lost count but I think he's got 10 sons and 1 daughter. Talk about not having a television. Every one of his kids is a hard worker, they do clams, oysters and everything in between. I think one even works for BG on the island abalone project. He's known me since I was around 12 and he always treats me and whomever I bring like family. Have a great weekend JP and all the rest of TalkBaja amigos. I am off to SQ at zero-dark-thirty tomorrow morning. Semper Fi.

Ask Alvaro about when they used to bring in water by rolling the barrels down the hill!

Drive safely my friend...
