Can't seem to find a portable DW in the usual places. Used, at a good price. Anybody?

Maybe you should specify where you are? Presumably you're not asking us for suppliers in Toronto ...

I gotta imagine that you could find one for a week. Ours is named Erika and she kicks ass!

I have seen lots of places that sell used appliances on the road heading out of Ensenada on the south side of town, mostly along the east side of the road. You checked there???

Yes, checked the segundas there, but only w/d and f/s. I know a lot of the condos in Rosarito have dw so thought the BB would be a help in finding one.

Oooops; had a look at Tijuana Craigslist/Appliance...
Apparently not many folks use them down there. ![]() What are they even called anyway; Lavaplatos, friegaplatos, lavavajillas... |

You might try asking at appliance repair shops around town. They may be able to point you in the direction of someone who sells them.

What is a "portable" dishwasher? I've never seen one that wasn't built-in.

Prices on new Whirlpool dishwashers range from $269 - $999....& portables are appreciably more than you can buy a built-in. I believe DW's are something that are more often than not installed until they die. I'd be very leery of a used one at a segunda....IMO, this is an item that would be smarter to buy new & get the manufacturers warranty. Or, as Kate recommended, look for a possible re-sale from an appliance store who will offer some warranty if you're able to find a used one.

We have a built inn dishwasher it is rarely used. The water we have here spots the dishes too bad and they uaualy have to be washed over by hand. When i find a Carpenter that can duplicate the doors on my cabinet i will toss the dishwasher and utilise the space for storage.

A Woman's Place WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul , Afghanistan , several years before the Afghan conflict. She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands. She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem happy to maintain the old custom. Ms Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, 'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?' The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, Land mines. Moral of the story is (no matter what language you speak or where you go): BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE'S A SMART WOMAN (OR MAYBE THREE!) posted on 4-25-2011 at 16:47 Yeah, and she still wants a new washer on top of that..... ![]() ![]() Sí, se puede
