Default POSADA CHABELA in San Jose del Cabo, BCS

Hi Everyone!

At the risk of this sounding like blatant advertising, I want to share with everyone an undiscovered little travel jewel (no, I am not employed there nor receive a commission) of a small, intimate boutique resort in Los Cabos (San Jose del Cabo, actually), Posada Chabela --- Posada Chabela - Los Cabos premiere bed breakfast in San Jose del Cabo, near Cabo San Lucas in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico … so that when you need a respite from camping, dust and off-roading, you’ve got a wonderful, intimate hideaway that does not at all feel like the hustle & bustle of The Cape.

I had the good fortune last summer to bump into Rose Ann Solazzo, the owner, and stay in one of her cabanas before renting a casita elsewhere for the summer. Rose Ann lives by herself on-property and is a blast. She welcomes both all travelers. Her style is to mingle with guests, both cooking and eating. The terraced property features 4 sleeping casitas and is arranged very differently from most accommodations. It is a very relaxed, clothing-wise, atmosphere.

My purpose in posting this is simply to help someone who has become a dear friend and to advise fellow Nomads of this unique getaway. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood on a hilltop (a bit difficult to find), the property is multi-level and overlooks the beautiful sea where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet.

The resort is very close to hiking trails and beaches. Costa Azul, a world-renowned surfers beach is a 5-minute walk down from her property. She is adjacent to a canyon full of hiking trails and the Cape’s only zipline park. About an hour’s drive is the Sierra la Laguna, a pristine eco-preserve with 7,000 foot peaks, alpine wetlands and hundreds of hiking trails and overnight excursions available.

So if you are considering decompressing for a few days from a long Baja drive, please check out Rose Ann’s place in Cabo. I’ll be back down there sometime later this summer. Contact me if you have questions.
