I have crossed the border at Tecate several times but do not know when the crossing opens and closes. I will be traveling down this week but will be crossing late at night Does anyone know when the Tecate crossing closes at night? I tried to find a number and web site but could not find any conclusive time. One web site said closes at 11:00 PM another said midnight and another 10: 00 PM HELP

Don't know what hour they shut down, but they open a five.....if you get there too late.

Border Wait Times

According to the CBP website, the hours for crossing at the Tecate border crossing are 5:00AM to 11:00PM, 7 days a week. I attached a screen capture from their webpage.

So that makes me wonder if they just close at 11:00 if you are three cars back in line???

Crossed @ Otay last night, 10:30PM......Blvd 2000 to the Toll road, then south....no traffic, sailed into Ensenada no problems

Yep, they'll close it on you. Happened to a friend of mine. They probably think it is funny also.

I'm assuming that link you posted was real time. So, as I write this, Otay had ten lanes open, with a 60 minute delay, while Tecate had two lanes open with a 25 minute delay.

Not sure I can believe any of this, inasmuch as with the exception of one recent Tecate crossing that took 5 minutes, all of my most recent crossings could be measured in hours.

That said, and i've mentioned it before, with the completion of the road construction on the Ruta de Vino, I;m guessing that Tecate will be overwhelmed, and the wait times will increase exponentially.

Not a good choice, lest you may be headed to Jamul.
