I think I know the answer you are looking for. But, Guanajuato doesn't really strike me as a convenient or efficient location for the US market. After all, the article did mention Latin America.

That said, I was actually surprised to see that Haonda already had a plant in Mexico. Just don't know where that is located, or where they ship their ouput.

I mention that because Volkwagen has had a plant in Monterey for many years that has turned out a large number of Jettas for the US market. And the Jetta has been among the worst reviewed vehicles for reliability from JD Power and the other major auto sites. For that reason, VW has recently opened a brand new plant in Tennessee.

Early reviews are mixed.
