Do you mean the radar stations?

From Mexico Forts

American WWII Air Defense Radar Stations
(1942 - 1943), State of Baja California (Norte)

During the early years of WWII the U.S. Army built and manned at least three SCR-270 early warning anti-aircraft radar stations along the coast of Baja California Norte, operated by the 654th AWS Company, to protect the southern approaches to San Diego, California. Known sites include Station B-92 at Punta Salispuedes, located 22 miles northwest of Ensenada (later moved to Alasitos, 36 miles south of Tijuana); Station B-94 at Punta San Jacinto, 60 miles south of Ensenada; and Station B-97 at Punta Estrella (Diggs), south of San Felipe on the Gulf of California (aka Sea of Cortez).

There's a bunch of them on Google Images. Just go to http://images.google.com/ and type in "world war II bunker".

Here are some in Albania from Wikipedia:

Hey, I saw that too... Really wanted to fine tune where the radar was at San Felipe. I had also heard it was at Punta Estrella or Punta Diggs, but in Gene Kira's site a person who was the son of a food delivery service owner descibes the long, dusty trip to San Felipe and described the radar base as being right next to town.

As a teenager I explored similar bunkers on the coast of San Francisco on the Presidio. Huge concrete doors left open exposing giant rooms for unknown purposes. Small "pillbox" bunkers all over the place with just a slit opening towards the west. I wonder if they are still there. Thanks Jesse.

Jack, those bunkers are still there. Some for coastal artillery of various calibers, some for magazines and shelters. Built for the defense of SF Bay.

If you get a chance, take the tour of the Ft Point Park.

On the hills over Playas de Tijuana, there was several machine gun and artillery bunkers, don't know who build them, but they where obviously there facing the ocean.

They might belong to Chapo. Can't be sure about these things anymore.

Out here on the Punta Banda point, [forgive the redundancy] there are caves in the hillsides, large and small, that had to be man made. The notion of them being coast-watch caves always went through my mind when I was out there. I should have looked closer, but they were tough to get to for and old fat man carrying a box of frosty Pacifico.
Maybe in my next, thin life, I'll have a look.

Aaaahhhhhhh ... a cave... just what I'm looking for ...

Saw one for sale in Spain ... swear to God... had two of those white plastic chairs one buys for patio use .. no bath room .. and the fire place was the wall .... the smoke just "rolled" along the ceiling and then out the caves front opening ... yeah, no doors a real cave...

They only wanted 385.000 Euro's... it was 2007 ... should have printed and saved as a .pdf...

I thought it was pretty nice... with exception that ya went out the fount door into the bushes to use the "head"...

The wife ... ya gotta be kidding ...

As a kid growing up during WW11 in Holland the whole coast was part of Germany's Atlantic Wall. Bunkers on the coastal dunes about 100 ft apart along the whole coast.. After the war, us kids used to play in them forever it seems. All of the Netherlands, fronting the sea, is sandy beach, except for where the rivers come in. My parents were deadly afraid that the invasion was going to happen on our coast, with all the perils it would bring while trying to raise 2 small children. Exiting days for me and my sister. Remember the wartime well, even if I was only 4 to 9 years old. Took into the 60's and 70's to blow them up and get rid of them. I believe there are still some there as remembrances.
