Howard was a wonderful person, and it was a privilege to have known him.

He and his pal Jerry Barstow were regulars at Punta San Carlos windsurfing in the late 80s/90s. They were seasoned big wave vets out at Killers/Todos Santos break(off of Ensenada), which is where Howard suffered the horrific wipeout that eventually resulted in his death.

Howard was also a world-class freediver/spearfisherman.

I remember hearing about Howards spearfishing prowess back in the early 60's. I guess he was one heck of a spearfisherman. Sorry to hear about his death.
