Default Road information

Does anyone know where the condition of a particular road/ highway can be found. About 1 1/2 years ago highway 2 between Sonoyta and San Luis was tore up real bad. About 5 months ago a friend of mine was told by some one in San Luis that the road was much better as they had fixed it pretty good. My friend was very angry as the road was still very bad. I guess the word bad depends on a persons perspective. I guess to a Mexican bad means if you can navigate with a four wheel drive it is not bad. I want to navigate this road because it would save me 50 miles.

You should go on Nomad...I think you do anyway....and ask for first hand reports...unless, of course, you want info directly from the Mex government sources.

Dennis I have tried to join Baja Nomad several times but it always says no new members available today try again later. I did look for road conditions on this site but since I am not a member I can not post the question. Do you know a Mexican government site that lists road conditions?

It looks like you can "...save about 40 miles in all..." going through Sasabe...

I want a little more excitement than the Sasabe road can provide. All the cartel members on that road now run fast when they see the loco gringo in his red KIA

So many spam sites try to get onto Nomad, it is a big problem... The key to registering there is to do so right after midnight GMT... if I recall, that's about 4 pm PDT? I welcome corrections on the difference between London and San Diego time zones!
