Default Puente Ensenada

Come on Mexico. Show us what you have got!

Imagine the Baja Bridge like the Hangzhou or Sutong(photo inset above) spanning Bahia Salsipuedes toward Ensenada in Baja California. Take advantage of one of the most beautiful and panoramic settings on the planet and shout it to the world.

From a scenic viewpoint I really like the idea. My problem with it however is that I have read several geologist reports that the unstable area extends offshore around the slide...

That is why I'm the liberal arts major/sales guy. They keep delaying the announcement on the short-term and long-term plan for new routing. El Mexicano and El Vigia are both reporting plans to be announced tomorrow and/or Monday.

If that entire coastal stretch is unstable, inland may be the only solution.

I think competent engineering and competent geological research is the real key

I remember reading sometime ago that the toll road generates something like $30 million USD per year in tolls. Add to that the loss in revenue from the drop in tourism and it is quickly obvious that they will find a way to pay for it. The toll road is federal and with the new energy reform it will likely be paid via ExxonMobil, Chevron-Texaco, Halliburton, etc...

Remember it has not been that many years ago the Toll Road was getting in Terrible shape and there was a huge outcry about where the Money was Going I don't rember if there was a accounting. But a extensive overhaul began soon after and has continued thru today
