Default Car Temp Importation Permit (TIP)
Does anybody know where to go to get a TIP taken off the record? We have a TIP on our car now --- which is necessary when you live in MX (except Baja) --- and we need to get it removed from the computer records. It is tied to our old FM3 visa, and we now have a Permanente Visa.

My husband has asked several people at the border crossing and nobody seems to even know what he is talking about. Understandable, I suppose, since a TIP is not required here. We know that we can get it removed at the crossing from AZ or TX, but we don't want to go that far unless we absolutely have to.

Years ago I travelled through Laredo and got a TIP for my vehicle there.
When I drove out I went through Matamoros / Brownsville and turned my TIP there.

Don't know if that helps?
