Hola!
My name is Vivian. My husband and I are both from Pennsylvania but have lived north of Dallas, Texas for the past 28 years.

Last year, we visited San Diego, CA and friends from Rosarito Beach, Baja. We so enjoyed our time in Baja, we are planning to spend a week in Ensenada, Baja, in July (2014).

Being from Texas, we have experienced severe drought. I know that this past winter Baja did not get much rain.

I'm wondering if it's expected to be hotter in Baja this summer than normal?

I'm not sure how to pack...but we don't want to over pack.

I'm excited about our trip. I can't wait. Is there anything I should do while there? We are considering Ensenada for retirement.

I don't think the drought is going to have much effect on Ensenada summer weather; it's about like Rosarito and San Diego.

Somewhat warm a ways inland for sure, but it's right on an immense body of water that rarely gets up to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Welcome, Vivian. You will like Ensenada!!!

Although you will be early for the Vendemia celebration (the wine harvest festival) in August, I suggest touring the wine country. Plenty of nice wine tastings and excellent places to eat. Also take a run out to La Bufadora.

You will find Ensenada a great place to live with plenty of things to do year around.
