I have heard a lot of people say the down side to wind generators is the noise they make. Here is one that claims to be low noise. It was designed for a boat but can it be used by us land lubbers?

I am no expert on those things but how does that one compare in cost and performance to standard units sold for land use? I have seen some on eBay that go for less than $400. Was thinking about getting one and trying a setup. Anybody here have any experience?

Does anybody here actually use a wind generator? One thing I am curious about is how do you keep the thing from tangling up the wire feeds if it goes round and round in the wind? I saw one that had a chain that would limit travel, but can't it get stuck in that position???
