It gets eclipsed....tries to mimic the sun....disguised as an orange....& slivered!

Legz - you've made my heart sing. La Paz is my favorite place to moon watch.

Perhaps you won't mind if I share two of my favorite La Paz moons on your thread?
This was taken a year ago in Kate's courtyard - Moon over Papayas.

Shhhhhhhhh! Don't tell Russ!! Enough time has passed & since I don't think Russ posts here, I'll post my admittedly inferior eclipse pics. At least you'll know there really was an eclipse....& that I don't own a tripod!! And I promise to work on retaining consistent angle positioning before the next full eclipse!

Love your moonshots Longlegs! You have a superb eye for composition! You should send some of your better ones to Charles Woods lunar picture of the day website!! (LPOD)

Chuck Wood was one of the planetary geologists that worked for NASA during the Apollo missions, hes always looking for moon pics, whether they be high res pics like I do with a telescope or regular camera shots that are artistic in nature!

Sincere thanks astrobaja, I take that as high praise coming from you! I'm not into astrological photography from a scientific viewpoint per se....my photographs are intended to capture the unique beauty of the moment as I see it. Occasionally, the moon cooperates by rising while I'm in the right place & time, the colors are pleasing to my eye & I attempt to capture it as I see it....sometimes successfully & sometimes not. It's funny how different people can look at several slightly different compositions & each will like different pics for different reasons, rarely does everyone pick the same pic as their favorite.

Thanks for sharing that website, I'll check it out.

Last night I went for a cooling dip in the pool, got half way down the steps & saw the moon peeking out from the most awesome cloud formations of shades of grey & black....alas, those all merged into pretty much pure black except for what the moonlight defined....anyway, this is the only one I saved our of the 13 I took!
