Default Hi from a newbie

Hello,

I've been lurking for a few months, reading the construction threads and how life flows on the baja.. Sounds like something I would like to be part of later in life.

Just wanted to break the ice and say hi..

Not much ice to break in Baja, unless it's in a blender.

Welcome, enjoy and post!

I'm a newbie too, and just joined. This seems to be one of the more active forums which pleases me. We are moving to Baja in a couple months from Mazatlan, and I know I will have some "how to" "where to" and when questions.

Hi Zoe,

Thanks for joining!

Mazatlan, huh? Never been there. Met a couple of brothers in Baja a looong time ago from there; Jeff and Jack George.

El Pescador. Renting a very cool house right on the sand with the ocean being our front yard. Looked at most of the areas from Rosarito to Ensenada, and this house was the winner. Be fun to be closer to families in San Diego, Tucson and Phoenix, although we will really miss Mazatlan and all it has to offer. A different sort of adventure awaits with the wineries, whale watching and some new friends. Can't wait! Thanks for asking. Z

Actually, Mazatlan to the coast between Rosarito and Ensenada is going to be a huge change in climate.

Not to mention that beyond the cartel violence, Mazatlan has reportedly shown a big increase in street crime, much of it against tourists. Hotel occupancy has dropped and several cruise lines have stopped using Mazatlan as a port of call.

Just guessing that since you mentioned family in Tucson and Phoenix, it will provide a welcome respite from the heat. Quite similar to San Diego, however. Welcome aboard.
