World Class Restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe
Great review of Diego Hernandez's new restaurant. We ate his food once before when he worked at another place. It was amazing!
Take a look at this review and pictures: Corazon de Tierra: Baja Med from the Ground up in Mexican Wine Country - Orange County Restaurants and Dining - Stick a Fork In It Can't wait to try this new place out, while we can still get a table.... |

Mmmmm; that sounded and looked wonderful!
Really like the simple, clean, yet classy way they both built the facility and present their own style inside. Thanks for that. |

It looks like an Army mess hall. Who decides what's "World Class" and what isn't? I don't think it really means anything, does it?

"Who decides what's "World Class" and what isn't?" ....... It's not "who" but "what" ... for me it's the SOS ... given the military setting
Will add, this is a long way from how we used to "eat" years ago when camping out, in Baja ... just a large pot of "clam chowder" and another with "chili" ... plus some torts'... and of course something to drink .. come to think even chairs were optional ...

Re: World Class Restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe
I have no idea what "world class" means either, but it's catchy in a title.
I guess I could say something about a chef that's getting a lot of positive attention outside MX... I follow a lot of the food and wine blogs and celebrity chefs. There's been a lot of interest in the Baja lately, but the high end is almost exclusively focused on Mision 19. There are groups that fly in out of New York City and say the quality is as high as anything in NYC and the total price is less (including airfare from NYC). That seems a pretty wild statement to make and a long distance to travel for dinner, but there you go. I've been to Mision 19 and like it. I'm also really happy that a restaurant other than that one is getting good attention. The saying is that Baja Nte and TJ in particular will have gone mainstream when Rachel Ray does a show about Kentucky Fried Buches. |
