Default Ever been to Cascada del Arroyo in Valle de Gaud?

I will be going to the Valle de Guadalupe this weekend and I see that there is a Cascade del Arroyo and Augas Termales just north/northeast of Francisco Zarco.

Has anyone here ever been there? Can you provide any feedback and/or photos? Is there anything to see there or is it just a spot on a map?

Thanks for your help!

Not personally, but others including 'bacquito' and 'BAJACAT' on Baja Nomad forums have, and to the old ranch ruins near there:

Looks like a beautiful spot. Bet there's a good water flow now too.

Post some pictures after you go. That area is on our want-to-go list...

Thanks for the links, David.

I'm planning a weekend getaway and want to explore some outdoor options. Asking around and getting information is easier with the internet, but it only helps if you use it! ;)

If I find it I'll post some pics.

That would be great, please do! The hot springs are described in one hot spring book that calls them 'Russian Valley Hot Springs' because Guadalupe was a Russian colony for many years. You may enjoy this article I wrote: Guadalupe Valley History

So, we went to the Valle de Gaudalupe this past weekend. .. . There is a lot of development happening there now, vineyards, restaurants, hotels, all well done and (seemingly) no expense spared.

We tried to find the Cascades and hot springs, but no luck. We'll have to try again later. The car did get really muddy and that was plenty of fun! :)

It does sound like you were impressed by the area. Most people seem to be. It's one of the bright spots in Baja right now. Too bad you didn't find the hot springs- but if you got muddy you had a good time!

Try using Google Earth and do a 'fly-over' so you can see what roads go where... then print an overhead view of the route to the springs. Things can have changed since the satellite took the photo, but it should really help a lot. A GPS is great, too... the GPS waypoints can be obtained off Google Earth... just pin the various road junctions and points of interest. Google Erath waypoints are set at WGS84, which is the same as the factory Map Datum setting on your GPS.

Met a guy months ago who told me that he found them aided by his TomTom GPS. We really like our TomTom down here and it continues to surprise me how well it has this area mapped out...

Thanks for the info. I have a TomTom, but I've never used the GPS co-ordinates. Never needed to before now!

The google earth tip is also helpful. I'll try again at some point and I think that I should be able to find it now.

I love my new(ish) Tom-Tom. It really is slick with the Mexico map updated and the google search/traffic updates north of the border. I never leave home without it...
