Default Clam Cocktail-Ensenada/Rosarito Area

We love the fresh, raw clam cocktails from the street vendors. We have only been able to find them however in Ensenada. Does anyone know if they are sold in the Rosarito area? I think the large clams are from San Quintin and are only available in a month with the letter R in it?

I am sure there are clams north of Ensenada, just not sure that I would want to eat them. Think about where they live/feed on...

I don't think they harvest any of the large, pismo clams, either near Ensenada or Rosarito. They are trucked up from San Quintin. I was wondering if someone had ever seen in the Rosarito area a street vendor selling clam cocktails with the large clams.

I remember one (years back), 8-10 blocks north of the Rosarito Beach Hotel on the east side of the street. Not sure if they are still there though...

Thanks, on my next trip down I will look for it. I see you live in San Quintin. Last year, on our way to see the whales, as we entered San Quintin, we stopped at a roadside stand and had the best clam cocktail as well as the cheapest. A large, approx. 16 oz cup filled with clam and condiments for about $6.

There were many such stands, just as you go over the bridge on the left hand side heading south. Most of them have been uprooted in preparation for the new shopping plaza that is supposed to break ground later this year.

Many of those stands that were removed are now popping up at new locations in San Quintin and Lazaro Cardenas.
