Newbie with questions
New here to the forum. We would like to take the ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan, leaving our RV at Camp Maranatha in La Paz; has anyone done this ? We also want to go to Copper canyon and take the train. Is it safe?

Welcome to the forum!
I've personally never taken the ferry & never stayed at Campestre Maranatha, but I've spent a lot of time there visiting many friends who've stayed there & a few who did leave their RV's there for short term side jaunts. The owners of Maranatha are great folks & will be as accommodating as possible. Everyone I know who stayed there has been complimentary about the site. They also have a reduced rate for people-less RV stays!!  Can't answer the Copper Canyon & train questions, so it looks like you'll have to settle for getting information in bits 'n pieces! Any other questions you have about La Paz, just ask! |

Other than that, there are bad guys there that will shoot you just to see if their gun is working. We have taken the train to the Copper Canyon and spent 2 nights lodging at the rim of the canyon. It was great. The train is first class and a beautiful ride as was the lodge we stayed at. Perfectly safe for families.

Looks like you can take your "Casa Rodante" with you on El Chepe.
Lots of English language YouTube on it as well. |
