Default Next Storm Forming (Lorena)

Pick your favorite Tropical Storm/Hurricane update site & brace for impact! We're getting to the time of year they hang closer to land!

Damn! Maybe I should be moving that cactus inside! Oh, wait! Maybe the storms would try to come inside after it!!! Decisions, decisions, decisions!!

That is one tough cactus. How do you keep you pool so clean with everything blowing around? That can't be easy.

Woooosh, at the moment, I'm working on my pool....it's currently a few shades off my font color! There's a LOT of leaves & vegetation debris in there! It should be closer to this color within the next couple of days.....I figure just in time for Lorena to retrash!

It'll make a good wind speed indicator.

A HUMONGOUS thunder & lightening show has been going on in La Paz for the past 30-45 minutes. Both dogs are plastered to my legs. No wind beyond a breeze & it just started to rain! This has got to be the weather cell moving westward toward the peninsula from mainland. Several very brief power outages over the past hour. It appears the worst of the thunder & lightening has moved on to shake others from their beds!

A very wet cat just came scrambling in.....complaining something fierce! Poor Bing!

Well it got my dog all scared. The poor thing was shaking for a good 2 hours while those lightning and the 30 second later thunder boomers lit up our whole house!

She has never had a bathroom accident in the house but last night I guess it scared the chit out her.

Here in Chametla we got dumped (rain) steady and hard for atleast 2 hours.

Swimming pool has a bunch of extra water in it.

I am wondering where it came from I did not see anything yesterday indicating and fierce activity for the La Paz area?
or
maybe it was Invest 99E that made a full north ward turn up the Pacific Coast?
and caught the weather man sleeping.

I think there's more on the way. Be careful down there:

Last night's storm came across from the mainland. At least, before I went to bed, weather images were showing big storm cells in that direction. I was sound asleep until my dog climbed on top of me (he weighs about 55 lbs). He obviously didn't enjoy the sound and light show, but I thought it was kind of cool for the few minutes I stayed awake.

Well it is howling south and west of us!!!!

From the looks of it I would say Todo Santos got NAILED again!
My ears could barely hear the thunder in the distance but my dog went Gin so I put the dog inside her kennel this time and she seems to feel safe in there she has calmed down.

We are getting a little sprinkle of rain not like yesterday.

Lorena has passed La Paz by with remarkably little effect!! From looking at the storm information on EEBMIKE & other weather sites, I fully expected 35-40 mph winds, accompanied by arroyo-filling rains! We got some thunder & lightening storms, some producing rain & some not. Then yesterday evening, when I thought Lorena was well past us, we got several hours of steady light to medium rain!

From all reports, it looks like this is Loreto's year for "greening up" & exceeding their road repair budget by several year's worth!

edinnopolo has been quiet enough that I envision him taking the mop out of his wife's hand to give her a break to refill the hummingbird feeders!! Naw!! Somehow, that doesn't ring true!

BigWooo, how did you & Ola fare?

Nothing noteworthy has shown up to take Lorena's place.....YET.....so hopefully we'll all get at least a one-week breather before we gotta start worrying about what kind of guest manners Manuel is going to bring when he shows up for a visit!
