more people should donate to this cause, especially those who might use it.

Help Desert Hawks . Check with Antonio ((1-619) 694-1082) for Paypal or other means of payment.

Hear, hear!

In addition to supporting the grupo de rescate Halcones del Desierto, I'm hopeful some fire/EMT types might see this and get involved with those efforts as well.

I have been involved in bringing donated fire & police gear to smaller departments and individuals for several years and the big problem is getting the items across the border. In all cases it had to be "smuggled" across.

If you try and bring it down and declare it, I have seen the TJ fire/police depts grab the stuff. When we tried to coordinate the delivery of turnouts/boots/nomex to a small VFD in Ensenada Municipality, the Ensenada Fire Dept tried to take it.

For those NOB that want to help out, I would print out Antonio's ambulance and VFD stories and take them to your local fire and EMT services.......those agencies ALWAYS have used, surplus or decommissioned equipment and gear just sitting around.....then you will have to figure out how to get the stuff down here....and there are ways....

How about tangling up some ratty old line, hooks, and reels in with the boots and suits, and say it's fishing gear.

Alternately, the pikes and saws could be dressed up in wool and plaid, to invoke a woodsy, Paul Bunyan/camping vibe.

Throw in a few flippers and snorkels with the O2 gear.
