We have a friend in the Lake Chapala area who wants to move to Rosarito to get closer to the border for medical care. She is on a limited budget and she has two medium sized dogs (Spaniels) that are well trained.
She needs an enclosed area for the dogs and a place that is relatively secure for a woman living alone --- in the range of $450 - $600 US --- long term. Alternatively, she would like to find something short term while she looks around. She hopes to be able to move very soon. Any ideas or suggestions? She is a nice person -- no drugs or loud entertaining. PM me and I will pass the info along to her and then put you in touch directly. |

Probably not the best idea to advertise the rental budget. Some will determine the price based on that.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I will send her this information today. She is planning to arrive in Rosarito on or about May 26.
Good advice re not posting her rental budget. I would normally agree --- but her budget is very limited and it isn't easy to find something in that range. I've contacted several local agents for her and the info they sent was all for houses over $1000 per month --- and she can't begin to do that. So, there is no reason to waste an agent's time if they don't have anything to offer that she can afford. Re the SENTRI -- she is coming from Lake Chapala (where we used to live) and so she has SD plates, a TX driver's license, and a MX Jalisco license. (Most people there go that route). She can't apply for her SENTRI until she gets matching license and tags / registration. It isn't that difficult. It just takes time and a little money. We are in that process now. Thanks again for the input and leads re rentals. |

I just sent my friend the rental listings you posted and she is very interested in both of them, but especially the one next to the RB hotel. I am going to call the agent to see if my husband and I can go look at them personally and take a few more photos. It would be great if she had a place to move into directly when she arrives. If either of them is "perfect" for her, then maybe the agent will allow us to pay a deposit to hold the house for her.
